FOR NON-ELASTIC VIRTUAL SERVERS

To set the reverse DNS record for a server or add-on IP address, this can be done by raising a request for our Technical Support Team.

When raising this request, be sure to let the Technical Support Team know the IP address and hostname that you would like to have the team setup for you.

Our Technical Support Team will be able to set the reverse DNS record and confirm that the change has been set.

Depending on your ISP or your local DNS cache, it may take up to approximately 48 hours for the IP to resolve to the requsted hostname.

FOR ELASTIC CLOUD SERVERS

  1. You can simply log into Cloud Portal and located on the right side is our 'Services - Tools' menu.

  2. After clicking on this menu, you can select 'Manage Reverse DNS' from the list.

  3. When you are on the 'DNS Manager' website, simply click on the 'Manage Reverse DNS' blue button located in the right corner.

  4. Once you are on the 'Manage Reverse DNS' website then click on the 'Add PTR' blue button located on the right side of the website.

  5. A box will then appear and you can select your service from the drop down list.

  6. Once your service has been selected, the box will update and here, you can enter in the reverse DNS record into the 'RDATA' box.

  7. Once you have entered in the information, then click on the 'Add' green button to update your reverse DNS record.
